Mock Scrapes – 9/09/2012

I laid down 2 mock scrapes on well used deer trails coming in and out of my hunting location his weekend. Both were very similar in construction: About 3ft in length, with a licking branch tied down at about 4-5FT, and a little “home brew” scent.  One of these scrapes is just down the trail from my camera, so I’ll update this post later on in the week to see if this drums up any more activity.

A couple of notes: I made sure my hunting boots were clean and scent free. I was wearing nitrile gloves, to prevent from stinking up the area, and the branches I was working with. I made sure to do this on a week when I haven’t consumed any alcohol (I learned about this over at Wired 2 Hunt).

Take a look – Constructive criticism is welcome (sorry about the blurry photo):

  1. Good stuff, playing around with mock scrapes can be a lot of fun, and VERY productive! Excited to see what happens with it!

  2. Thank you, I’ve recently been searching for information about this subject for a long time and yours is the greatest I’ve came upon till now. However, what in regards to the bottom line? Are you certain in regards to the supply?
